Silk screen poster I did for the Texas Theatre. The print is a 12x18 two color screen print, printed by Napkin Art Studios.

Great one! One of JCs best!
Are you doing a lot of art for other people or only just for fun here and there?

Thanks! Yeah, The Thing is probably my favorite of Carpenter's films, though there are so many great ones. Most of the recent art I've posted is professional work that I've been hired to do, though I definitely try to make time for personal projects.

I saw this on TV once. After a while, I quickly concluded that it was made in the 80's, due to both picture quality, and the way they died (you know, that slightly over the top 80's way).

Considering I turned it on about half-way or so through, and had no way of checking when it was made because I lacked a title (seriously, I looked this up just now and realized that was the movie), my guess was pretty good.

I remember being amazed that a black guy lived to the end (let's face, African-Americans are more likely to die in a horror film than whites. It's something that just seems to happen.)

Haha, true. It is a pretty great movie if you are into the whole survival horror thing. I definitely recommend it.

Just watched the remake and my friend showed me this. Too bad I didn't get to meet you while you were up here in OKC!

Too bad indeed. Although, I do make it up to OKC every once in a while. I'm sure I'll make it up to New World Comics whenever my book comes out.

Haha me too! I don't know if I'll get to sell any, the theater that hired me usually only sells the prints on location during the screening. However, if I can get my hands on some, I'll let you know.

Excellent work, good sir! Congrats on getting it put up at a real movie theater!

Did they commission a bunch of artists, or are you the sole creative force for this little event?

Thanks James! It's a pretty small theater so they usually only do one poster per movie, this one was just me.
